What’s your love language?
Here’s how it relates to your service to God.
Hi Triumpher!
How’s your weekend going? I hope you’re getting a lot of rest before Monday shows up again. Before I give you the tea from T30 (see what I did there 😌), I have a simple question for you:
What is your love language?
You might be thinking, “What does love language have to do with serving God?” I’ll explain.
Imagine your love language was quality time. How would you feel if your significant other took you on a date, spent the whole time on the phone, and then went home? It wouldn’t feel like quality time, right?
That’s probably because to you, there is a specific way that quality time must be spent for it to truly be quality time to you.
Triumpher, this same principle is applicable in our service to God.
We cannot serve God any way we like. Rather, for our service to be right in God’s sight, we must serve God the way His Word instructs us to. This, and not love languages, is what I’ll be sharing with you today.
In Romans 12:11, Apostle Paul says that as a believer, you should “not be lagging in diligence, but fervent in spirit, serving the Lord”.
Now, it’s easy to read this Scripture and say, “Okay, I’ll be diligent and fervent in spirit." But the question is, how can you be fervent in the spirit? Let’s learn a few lessons from this week’s devotional.
First of all, to be fervent in spirit, you must have fire on your altar. Just like God commanded Aaron’s sons to keep the fire burning in Leviticus 6:8–13, you must keep your devotional altar burning. How? By building a consistent prayer life and studying God’s Word daily. Like Elijah, you must do this in spite of how busy your schedule gets. (James 5:15-16)

Join T30 prayers every day. This simple act of praying daily with others will help you develop fervour and consistency in your devotional life. And if you already do this, you deserve a huge high-five!
Now, after building fervour in your spirit, the next step is to express this fervour in your service to the Lord. In this week’s devotional, we learned that there are three key ways to do this:
By being fully committed, submitted, and aligned to God’s plans (Matthew 4:10, Deuteronomy 10:12, Philippians 2:5-8);
By humbly serving others in love with our God-given gifts and talents; and
By being zealous in carrying out God’s plans and purposes. (John 4:34, 2 Corinthians 5:15)
Triumpher, as you set out to serve God, remember that your service to God is of utmost importance. It is time-sensitive, and as such, you must preach the Gospel and carry out God’s plans with a sense of urgency. But more importantly, remember these words from our lead facilitator, Apostle Emmanuel Iren:
“Your life is God’s integrity to protect.”
God jealously guards His plans and purposes, so you can rest assured in the fact that everything God has said He will do in and through you, His zeal will perform it. (Isaiah 9:7)
That’s all for today, Name. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do for God!
Till next time,
Tim.
