The Secret to Overcoming Sin š
Update: You are now sin-free!
Hello Triumpher!
Welcome to your weekly dose of good news and great vibes!
What has been on your mind in recent times? I hope itās Godās grace and not the state of the economy.
Speaking of grace, last week on Triumph30 Devotional, we learnt about overcoming sin. And would you like to know the most important secret to overcoming sin?
Well, itās simple. Flip to 2 Corinthians 5:17. Iāll wait for a minuteā¦
Aha! Do you see it too? The biggest secret to overcoming sin is knowing that ā¦You already have! You have already overcome it because youāre a new creation in Christ.
When it comes to the subject of sin, we operate against it from the standpoint of victory. By recognizing our new identity in Him and relying on His grace (Philippians 2:13), we can overcome any temptation. The Bible says that by the arm of flesh shall no man prevail. We donāt wage war against sin solely by our human efforts or consciousness but first with the consciousness of the victory that Christ has wrought for us and the strength and wisdom that the Spirit supplies us with.
Daily practices like renewing our minds with Scripture (Romans 12:2) and yielding our lives to God (Romans 6:13) are key. Remember, we're new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), free from sin's hold. Walk in that freedom (Galatians 5:16)!
By walking in the Spirit daily, guarding our hearts consciously, renewing our minds, and relying on Godās grace, we can walk perpetually in victory over sin and temptations.
In this week's T30 morning devotions, we emphasized maintaining consistency in the secret place. We were encouraged to carry the consciousness of our privilege of sonship in Christ into the secret place. This is our sole right of access to God (John 11:1-2, Hebrews 4:16).
Now that you know the secret to living above sin, you have unlocked a new update. It is, however, important to yield wholly to the Holy Spirit and shut the door to all possible temptations and sins. And a great way to do that is through constant prayers and confessions.
Here are some prayer points from this week to continue praying and confessing.
Father, I submit myself to your training, I yield to the help of your Spirit.
In the name of Jesus, I am full of the Spirit. As I speak in tongues, I'm given utterance. All that pertains to life and godliness is stirred and I receive supernatural information (Jude 1:20).
Father, in any way I have gone on in my own way and have not given room to your word, Father, I give you room to correct me (Luke 18:13).
Father, I am sensitive to your leading. I am not confused because I will know what to do, what to say, who to speak to and where to go. I am open to divine instructions and assignments. Daddy share your burdens with me, show me what to do (Exodus 3:7-10).
Father, in this secret place, reveal yourself to me. I want to know you more dearly, I want to see you more clearly (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Iām signing off with prayers for your continued journey in faith. Stay encouraged, stay connected, and keep shining bright!
