Love, Marriage & God’s Master Plan
Hey Triumpher, do you have the blueprint?
Hi there!
Imagine a home built not by human hands; a home where every room is filled with treasures beyond your wildest dreams. Sounds beautiful, right? Well, that’s exactly the kind of home God wants us to build.
It is Tim here again! Can you believe we’re already in the 8th week of the year?
This week we learnt about: love and marriage. No, I am not referring to the fairytale kind with just perfect Instagram-worthy moments, but the real, God-designed kind; the one built to last.
Marriage isn’t a human invention, it’s God’s idea. And because it’s His idea, only His Word can teach us how to do it right. Just as an architect provides a building plan, God has given us a divine blueprint for marriage.
The Bible clearly outlines the roles of husbands and wives: husbands are called to love sacrificially, just as Christ loved the Church, and wives are called to submit as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-26).
The truth is, loving and submitting isn't always easy. A husband may struggle to love when disrespected, and a wife may resist submission when she feels unloved. But marriage isn’t just about emotions, it’s about a revelation. Understanding it as a reflection of Christ and the church changes everything.
Love in marriage isn’t just romance, it’s sacrifice. Christ demonstrated love by giving Himself up for the Church (John 15:13), and husbands are called to follow that example. It’s not about demanding respect, it’s about earning it through selfless love.
Marriage requires constant learning. You don’t stop growing just because you said, “I do.” Read books, seek godly counsel, and most importantly, let the Holy Spirit guide you (John 16:13).
So, here’s the bottom line: Whether you're married, preparing for marriage, or simply growing in love, the key remains the same: embrace God’s design, seek His wisdom, and walk in love and forgiveness. When we build on God’s blueprint, the result is usually a marriage that honours Him and reflects Christ’s love for the Church.
With love,
Tim
Ps: If love is built brick by brick, what’s the next brick you need to lay? Forgiveness? Patience? Sacrifice? Take that step today and trust God to hold your hand through it.
