Living With Eternity in View
Triumpher, this life isn’t all there is...
Hey Triumpher,
It’s Tim here again, and I want to remind you of something simple yet life-changing: this world is not all there is.
James 4:14 describes our lives as a vapour; that is, here for a moment, then gone. And Hebrews 9:27 tells us plainly: every soul will face judgment. Eternity is real, and there are only two destinations: heaven or hell (Matthew 25:46).
That may sound heavy, but here’s the good news: through Jesus Christ, God has given us eternal life (Romans 6:23). That’s the message we carry. The message of hope this world is desperately searching for.
Let’s talk about purpose. True purpose is something worth living for and worth dying for (Philippians 1:21). For the believer, Jesus is both. When you live for Him, even sacrifice becomes gain, and your life takes on eternal meaning. And this purpose is urgent. Without the gospel, there is no hope (Acts 4:12). God has entrusted you with this message, and souls depend on it.
So here’s my charge to you: let your heart beat for what God’s heart beats for, and that is first and foremost the salvation of men. Is salvation by faith or by works? Salvation is a gift of grace, not something we earn (Ephesians 2:8–9). But that gift always bears fruit. As James puts it, faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Good works don’t save you, but they do reveal a faith that’s alive and genuine.
Finally, remember this: living for Christ will cost you; ambitions laid down, sacrifices made, even misunderstandings endured (Luke 9:23). But like Paul, you can rejoice, because your reward is eternal (Matthew 5:11-12). Nothing you do for Christ is ever wasted (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Dear believer, eternity isn’t just a distant reality; it’s the backdrop of every choice you make today. Live with eternity in view. And don’t keep this hope to yourself, share it. Someone’s forever may depend on it.
Have a beautiful weekend!
With love,
Tim.
