Triumpher, are you feeling down today?
What you should know about tests and trials.
Triumpher, have you ever written a test that you didn’t feel prepared for? Do you remember how anxious you felt during the test and how many questions ran through the lanes of your mind?
Or when you thought a particular situation was not going to end, but it did, it became a testimony to encourage someone, it also made you stronger and bold to face anything else?
Well, as Christians, we also go through tests and trials, but the reassuring part is we are not alone in such times, we’ve got the answers.
Curious to know what those answers are?
Come with me as I show you.
2 Corinthians 4:17(NLT) says, “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
This week, we learned about gearing up and taking a stand in our allegiance and loyalty to Jesus even in the face of seemingly impossible situations. We also learned to live out our freedom in Christ and to build strong convictions rooted in God's word, while encouraging one another in the faith.
While the tests and trials we may face in this present day might not be same as it was in Biblical days, we can see a pattern of how people, even Jesus, overcame the temptations of the devil (Luke 4:1-13).
You should first know and trust the One who has saved us once and for all (Hebrews 7:25), because your convictions and knowledge of Him is also an opportunity to stand firm in His word, to set a standard for others to follow (Matthew 5:14), while encouraging them in the faith (Ephesians 4:16).
This saving power of Christ is not just to be exercised during tests and trials. As Christians, we must also make use of it to exercise ourselves unto Godliness, realizing that we must consciously walk in the Spirit to overcome sin. Like physical exercise, we must consistently engage in edifying activities to starve our sinful desires.
Triumpher, whatever you may face, always remember that your loyalty remains with God and there are no grey areas. We must remain steadfast in our obedience to God’s word, our stand for God even in the face of persecution, and our support for others.
In the days ahead, spend time knowing and building your conviction in Christ, knowing that He never left you defenseless and He is always with you.
Ready to face any adversity head on?
I’m rooting for you!
Tim.
