Ambassadors of Christ.
On representing Christ like you believe.
Dear Triumpher,
Imagine you got a good gift today. There’s a high chance you’d want someone to share in your joy–maybe a friend, sibling, or perhaps your parents. You’ll also likely post on social media for sheer joy. If it’s a physical gift, it’ll be a reminder that whoever gave it had you in mind.
If you’ve gotten the gift of salvation, a gift far greater than any earthly gift, what then should your reaction be?
The gift of salvation is one that is freely given to anyone who believes. God desires that this message be preached to everyone, regardless of age or race, so that all may be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).
The message of the Gospel is that God, through Jesus Christ, has dealt with the problem of sin fully, finally, and forever. The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Like brand ambassadors in today’s world, where every action taken by an ambassador is a reflection of the brand they represent. You are Christ’s Ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20) and must represent Jesus Christ and preach the Gospel everywhere.
Sometimes, you may face persecution for preaching this Gospel, they may come in the form of mockery, stigmatization, and in some parts of the world, death. These may test your resolve, but like Jesus, who was beaten, rejected and killed, you are called to remain strong and courageous. Remember that these afflictions are temporary, compared to the eternal glory awaiting you when united with Christ (2 Corinthians 4:16-17).
The great commission is our top priority as Christians. This gift of the Gospel is for everyone, and how would everyone know if we do not tell them? An endless life is possible in Christ to everyone who believes, and it’s our responsibility to bring them to the knowledge of this.
Dear Triumpher, the Lord is counting on you to announce the Gospel to the world through your creative gifts and every means available to you. You are His ambassador, so speak with conviction, share with understanding, and love with boldness.
You are God’s envoy and God is trusting you on this.
Till the next time,
Tim.
